We built Truest to help people invest in themselves.
And it started with not knowing what we want to be when we grow up (do we ever grow up?). At first, it was as simple as trying to figure out what work we actually enjoy, who we loved working with, and what made the people who seemed to have it all together thrive. We realized we might not be the only ones who would benefit from what we learned. 🙂
Where We Started
We started with dozens of conversations with the people we absolutely loved working with. They introduced us to all of their favorite people. Amazing managers, HR leaders, career coaches, therapists, friends, neighbors, relatives - pretty much anyone who cares deeply about personal and professional development for themselves and others. Feedback turned into proof of concept, feedback turned into beta, beta turned into a real product, and every day our users help us understand what can do to improve. The more people we add, the better it gets. Rinse/repeat.
What We Noticed
The same traits kept showing up: a pursuit of self-awareness, a commitment to communication, a generous context, and simple habits and processes that made them both incredible collaborators and people. They helped others understand them, were curious about understanding others, and used simple, effective processes to stay aligned with others. They also were incredible at turning intention into actions - big and small - that aided in their growth and fulfillment. We also learned that anyone can learn to be this way.
What We Did
We started creating a product that helps individuals take control of their careers and development on their terms, that is explicitly accountable to them. We started with helping people build a foundation of preferences to help others better understand them, ways to gather private 360 feedback, and simple tools that turn all of their prior efforts into a foundation for future growth.
We Work for You
Most career tools serve employers, recruiters, or advertisers. Truest is different: you are the customer. Your needs—not someone else’s roadmap—set our priorities. We think you will commit more to yourself because you are a paying customer.
Independent by Design (and a Public Benefit Company)
Business models shape behavior. As a PBC, we’re accountable to more than profit; we balance purpose with sustainability so we can build what’s best for the people who use Truest.
Your Data Stays Yours
You log in with your personal email. Your information is yours to share if you like, or can be completely private. We don’t sell it, that’s just not our business model.
Simple Tools, Lasting Impact
Truest productizes what effective humans already do: reflect, communicate, and take small actions consistently. Not one-size-fits-all, but choose your own adventure based on how you operate. No gimmicks, but we do work hard to motivate you to work on yourself (because that is part of what you pay us for).
Honest Feedback
We all want to know more about how others see us so that we can choose what and how we might improve. Private network insights mean people are more likely to be honest, and we’re more likely to be receptive.
Better Alignment, Better Work
Tiny shifts in how we communicate transform collaboration. Truest helps you name preferences, reduce friction, and build mutual understanding—so teams can do their best work together.
Bottom-Up Career Growth
Career development has long been top-down. We’re building from the bottom up: empower individuals first, and the benefits ripple out to managers, teams, and companies.
Choose-Your-Own-Path
There isn’t one “right way” to grow. It’s not our job to tell you what growth is important to you. It’s our job to help you articulate it, set goals, and take steps to get there.
Built with Our Users
Every user plays a role in shaping Truest - because our users pay our bills. Their fingerprints are everywhere. If you’ve shared an idea, thank you. If you want to, thank you in advance.
