Sales Arborist Apprentice / Sales Arborist Trainee

Most days mix supervised customer site visits with structured learning — supporting senior arborists on residential or commercial property visits, learning tree assessment and species identification, helping with care recommendations and proposals, and partnering with senior staff. You're often working at tree care companies (Bartlett, Davey, SavATree, regional firms) or specialty arboricultural sales operations, and the customer base (residential, commercial, municipal) shapes early work.

What tends to be harder than people expect is the technical depth required combined with sales work. Tree biology, disease and pest identification, and arboricultural practices all develop together, and ISA certification pursuit typically structures early career. Mentorship quality and specialty depth shape early growth.

People who tend to thrive here are outdoor-comfortable, technically curious about trees, comfortable with customer work, and willing to learn from experienced arborists. If you want pure office work, arboriculture lives outdoors. If you like building a foundation in arboriculture sales, the early years build a base toward ISA certified arborist, senior sales arborist, or arboricultural specialty roles.
