Senior Cloud Security Engineer

As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you specialize in securing cloud infrastructure, workloads, and data across cloud platforms. You design and implement cloud security architectures, configure security controls, automate security monitoring, manage identity and access policies, and respond to cloud-specific security threats. You're the person who ensures the organization's cloud environment is both functional and secure.

Your day involves reviewing and configuring IAM policies, implementing cloud security controls, running security assessments against cloud infrastructure, automating security checks in CI/CD pipelines, investigating security alerts, and advising engineering teams on secure cloud practices. You need deep knowledge of both cloud platforms and security principles — understanding not just what the security controls are, but how cloud services interact and where security gaps emerge.

The senior challenge is keeping up with cloud platform evolution while maintaining a coherent security posture. Cloud providers release new services weekly, each with its own security model. You need to evaluate these services for security implications and update security policies accordingly, while also ensuring existing workloads remain secure.
