Junior Inside Sales Engineer

Most days mix supervised technical sales work with structured learning — supporting senior inside SEs on discovery calls and demos, helping with proof-of-concept builds and proposals, learning customer environments and product portfolio, and partnering with senior staff and account executives. You're often working at SaaS companies, hardware vendors, or specialty B2B technology organizations, and the product complexity and customer segment shape early work.

What tends to be harder than people expect is the high deal velocity combined with technical depth at junior level. Inside SE roles handle multiple opportunities simultaneously, demo skills under time pressure matter, and video/phone customer dynamics require their own craft. Mentorship quality, certification pursuit, and exposure to multiple deal types shape early career growth.

People who tend to thrive here are technically credible, comfortable on video/phone, willing to learn from senior SEs, and patient with high deal volume. If you want in-person customer work, field SE offers that. If you like building a foundation in inside SE work, the early years build a base toward senior SE, principal SE, or specialty technology commercial roles.
